‘Panama City’ moviemaking in Grantville

The city of Grantville is partnering with an independent film company to bring a movie production to town next week.

The city has called a special meeting Thursday at 4:15 p.m. to discuss the project, which is being shot by Total Bun Productions. The working title of the Atlanta-based comedy is “Panama City.”

“Producing a movie about one man’s misadventures living in a world that unfairly discriminates against those of limited intelligence, judgment, and ability,” the movie production company states on its Facebook page.

Henry County willing to turn Tara field into movie studio

The Henry County Commission has taken a big step in allowing a film production company to set up a studio at Tara Field, the airport near Atlanta Motor Speedway.

The commission voted 4-1 Tuesday night to support a proposed agreement between the county and Big 5 Enterprises of Stockbridge. Big 5 must come back within 60 days with the detailed agreement  for the commission to study.
