Raleigh Studios plans Open House
Raleigh Studios has opened its doors at the RiverWood facilities in Senoia.
A management agreement was signed between RiverWood Studios in Senoia and Raleigh Studios that should “have a pretty big impact” on the regional film industry, according to longtime RiverWood Studios President Scott Tigchelaar.
“Raleigh Studios is the largest owner and manager of stages and studio facilities in the world,” said Tigchelaar when the deal was first announced earlier this summer. “They have locations throughout the world, in Hollywood, Baton Rouge, Detroit, Budapest, you name it.”

‘Footloose’ Scene to be filmed in Franklin
The city of Franklin will play host to a scene in the upcoming remake of the 1984 classic film “Footloose,” and residents say it will be a boost for what is normally a sleepy town.The film, which will star Dennis Quaid and Andie MacDowell, began production in mid-July, though the scene that will be shot in Franklin won’t take place until late October, according to the community website franklingeorgia.com.

“The Last Song’s” Impact
Just about a year ago filming for “The Last Song” wrapped on Tybee Island. With its April 2010 premiere, businesses on the island kept their fingers crossed that the exposure would put Tybee on the radar. According to the Tybee Tourism Council it did.
